Response to Hazardous Materials Incidents
The potential for a hazardous material incident exists in almost every setting-in industry, on highways, in public institutions and in shopping malls. NFPA 1072 develops the quick assessment, decision-making and safety skills needed by those who may be involved in any level of response to such incidents. NFPA 1072 Dangerous Goods is offered in two levels including:
Awareness
Covers quick assessment, decision-making and safety skills needed by those who may be involved in any level of response to a hazardous materials incident.
Operations
Prerequisite: ICS 100, NFPA 472 or 1072 Awareness
Covers topics such as surveying the incident, collecting information, estimating potential harm, planning the response, implementing response, evaluating progress.
Notes
Employers may determine the training level required for their site specific training.
